You can import and export through the manage  simcard App on your phone.  I just drag and drop my files to the music folder or Goto Motorpla Cliq.com and download Motorala media link software to your desk top.  There are free ringtones downloads from the android market on your phone.  Download Automatic task killer for free from the market using your phone once you choose the apps you want it to close it does  everytime. There is a free app battery booster lite you shoul download from the market

1) I had to update most of my contact info from t-mobile.com under connect and share there is a contact option then i selected the ones that didn't transfer and hit send to phone. 2) If you plug in your phone via data cable and open folder to view files there is a music file and I just drag and drop music into it. 3) I thought all the apps were safe but maybe I need to look into that. I'm pretty sure at least the most popular ones are or else some of the comments with it would say they were infected. 4) If your familiar with Zedge.com they have a pretty good app that I use. After you download the ringtone you like when you go to set a new ringtone it gives you a phone and zedge folder option. 5) I use Taskiller which is a little different then the advance task killer mentioned before but I tried both and liked Taskiller better. So much so that I paid for the full version (95 cents). It's cool because you just click it and it gives you a list of all things running and you just click on the ones you want to "kill".
