If I turn off GPS to save battery and because we are running Cupcake so Google Maps doesn't need it, does the T-Mobile feature of finding a stolen phone still work?  Is there a way to turn it on remotely?  Do you have to register to have this service?

I would contact t-mobile on that.   I don't think GPS is necessary for them to find the phone, as they just bounce signals of the service towers to locate it (which is how most cellular "GPS" services work, as in, it's not "really" GPS.

I wonder if T-Mobile can turn on the GPS remotely.

Its motorola under the blur account login where you can track and or wipe the phone,  ive had limited success, not sure if its because i keep the gps off or if it just kinda sucks, its found my phone within about 600' 3 out of 5 times.
